Support From Ergon Energy

This week Mossman Support Services celebrated the installation of new solar panels on the Community Centre building in Mill St Mossman. Funds for the installation of the panels were obtained through Ergon Energy’s Community Fund which provides funding to non-profit organisations to implement projects that provide lasting benefits for the community. Manager of Mossman Support Services, Desley Lloyd expressed her appreciation stating, “Ergon Energy’s commitment to this project demonstrates they are committed to working with and supporting our local community to deliver positive outcomes and build lasting relationships.”

The energy cost savings from the installation of the solar panels will free up funds to enable the Community Centre to develop and deliver additional programs and services to assist disadvantaged members of the community. The supports and services that are currently available at Mossman Support Services include the emergency relief program, disability support, youth services, family and domestic violence counselling, community development, men’s shed, play group, work for the dole, indigenous art and craft program and the community garden and kitchen. Additional life skills programs planned for the future include retention of tenancy program and an anger management programs.
