Our organisation provides a wide range of Disability, Youth and Community services and programs in the Douglas and surrounding areas.

Our work is complex in that we have a specific role to support vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our community through a team of committed and dedicated employees and volunteers.

Our programs offer opportunities for connection, contribution and participation where we do not decide for others but support a culture where shared reflection is generated, building on our community together.

Our Story

Douglas Shire Community Services Association Ltd (DSCSA Ltd) is a not-for-profit regional community organisation providing services, programs and activities for people in the Douglas Shire. The staff and volunteers of DSCSA Ltd strive to build a community that cares and supports the vulnerable and disadvantaged, by providing services for those in need.  

Our contribution is made through the ongoing development and maintenance of policy and planning frameworks, the coordination and delivery of programs and support services to vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the community, youth, people with a disability, people living with severe and persistent mental illness their families and carers.

Our Approach

We deliver quality, person-centered services driven by the desire to challenge disadvantage, and to foster hope and independence. Ultimately we strive to increase the awareness of opportunity and choices available for people to access, participate and contribute to their community.

We work to build the capacity of individuals to realise their full potential in key outcome areas and work to grow their resilience, independence and self- sufficiency through the provision of services focused on education, health and independence.

Mossman Support Services is staffed by a dedicated team of deeply appreciated volunteers and paid employees, and guided by the expertise of a broadly experienced Board of Directors.
