Grow Connections
Growing food, growing skills, growing community — right here in Mossman. A productive garden space open to everyone, shaped by the people who tend it.
Growing, evolving,
and ready for its
next chapter
Over the past decade, this project has taken many shapes. What began as a few garden beds has grown into a productive space that supports our Emergency Relief and Community Kitchen programs, while bringing people together to learn, connect and contribute.
Now, it is ready for a fresh direction — powered by new energy, new ideas, and new faces from our community. In 2026, we are reshaping the garden and inviting the community to help lead the way.
Our Vision — 2026 & Beyond
Feeding the Future: Connecting to Place — collaboration, sustainability and participation.
Strengthen our edible gardens and sustainable food production
Co-design programs with our community — shaped by the people who use them
Incorporate bush tucker and culturally respectful elements into the garden
Support our Emergency Relief and Community Kitchen food programs
Create welcoming, shared garden spaces where everyone feels at home
We're calling on our "nature nurturers"
Following ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper, our garden needs extra care. As we move out of a long, hot and wet season, we are calling on community members to help restore and grow thriving, food-bearing gardens once again. Every pair of hands makes a difference.
Help Restore the Garden →There's a place for everyone here
Right now, we don't have a fixed program — because we are building it with you. We are inviting community members to step forward, share their knowledge, and help shape a garden program focused on sustainable food and edible growing. Whether you are experienced or just keen to learn, you are welcome.
