Mossman Support Services places the wellbeing and safety of our clients, staff, volunteers and the community at the centre of everything we do. During a public health emergency, we follow all directions issued by the Chief Health Officer to help prevent the spread of illness and keep our community safe.
Steps we take to provide a safe and healthy environment while continuing to deliver vital services. Clear information and signage on proper hand sanitising procedures and hygiene practices throughout our facilities. Supplying hand sanitiser, masks and gloves for staff, volunteers and clients where required. Ongoing regular cleaning and disinfection of all surfaces and high-contact areas across our facilities. Revising practices and managing high-traffic spaces to reduce the risk of transmission. Offering phone, Zoom or outdoor meeting alternatives to support those who cannot attend in person. Anyone with symptoms including cough, fever, fatigue, sore throat or shortness of breath is asked to stay home until they are well. Mossman Support Services' priority is the wellbeing and safety of our clients, staff, volunteers and the community. During a public health emergency, the Chief Health Officer can issue Public Health Directions to assist in containing, or to respond to, the spread of infection within the community. Mossman Support Services is required to adhere to the Direction from the Chief Health Officer. Mossman Support Services will continue to deliver quality, person-centred services to support vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the community to foster hope and independence in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment. We continue to take advice, recommendations and directions from the Queensland and Australian Governments and have taken actions to provide a safe and healthy environment whilst continuing to provide our vital services to the community. Our policies and procedures regarding pandemics are developed and reviewed in accordance with the latest information, advice and directives issued by Queensland Health and the Australian Government, and in consideration of our Service Vision, Mission Statements and Values.
